What Makes Us Different

Experience: We have been designing, implementing, and supporting business information systems for over 17 years.

We do not sell hardware or software. You do not need to worry that our recommendations are based on a desire to sell you things you don't need. By not reselling computers and software, we avoid potential conflicts of interest, and give you greater confidence in our recommendations.

We share our knowledge. Do you want to know how we did something? No problem. We believe in sharing what we know. 

We may be geeks at heart, but we don't act like geeks. We are friendly, and know how to communicate with you in non-technical terms. We want you to understand what we are doing, and to feel comfortable with the services we provide. Of course, if you like talking technology, we are more than happy to oblige.

More than anything else, we want you to feel good about your decision to use our services. We believe in long term customer relationships. Some of our customers have been with us for over 10 years.

History

PropHeads Consulting was establish in 1996 by Jim Martin with the desire to provide quality technology consulting and support to small and medium sized business.

Before launching PropHeads, Jim worked for Pacific Bell (now at&t) in a variety of positions. At the end of his 18 years with the company Jim was the Infrastructure Manager for a sales organization that encompassed 14 offices and over 200 external resellers across the state of California. Jim managed a team of technical managers, and software developers, who installed one of the first multi-site client/server sales tracking and commissions system in the company. 

Working for the phone company was a great experience and one that allowed Jim to work with some of the best people and technologies of the day, but all good things must come to an end. Along with all of the great people and cool technology, came endless meetings, constant travel, bureaucratic red tape, and corporate politics. By the summer of 1996, Jim realized he was ready for a change. After talking with friends and associates, Jim realized that small and medium business were struggling with technology, and that many of these business could not afford to hire a large consulting firm or a full time IT staff. PropHeads Consulting was born.
